“I don’t expect to change the world, but I hope to do good for others in another country.”

In May Kristi Scott joined the ranks of graduates of the University of Nebraska at Kearney. In June she joined the ranks of the Peace Corps and headed to Tanzania. She credits the scholarship support received from University of Nebraska at Kearney donors with allowing her to accept the toughest job she’ll ever love.
“If it wasn’t for the support provided by my scholarships, I probably wouldn’t have volunteered for the Peace Corps because I’d have to work right away to pay my school loans,” Kristi said.
Her scholarships allowed her to focus on her studies and also become more involved on campus. All of which helped her develop the leadership skills and willingness to work with others that influenced her decision to accept a 27-month stint in the Peace Corps.
